Five and a half decades ago, the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church established its initiative, “MOSC Medical Mission,” as an act of surrender to God, with a commitment to serve humanity and care for those who are sick and in need. To give legal recognition to this initiative, it was registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act. Since its inception, MOSC Medical Mission has remained committed to its noble mission of “ameliorating the suffering of society” and continues to serve in accordance with the vision entrusted to it.

On 14 September 1970, the Medical Mission Hospital was formally consecrated with 100 beds. Over the years, it has grown into a multi-specialty, 1,100-bedded super-specialty tertiary-care Medical College Hospital. The MOSC Medical College Hospital is located at Kolenchery, near the Kochi–Madurai National Highway (NH 85), amidst a scenic environment.
